After the success of the Priyadarshini Matoo thing we need to be proud of ourselves.
Now can we start a movement on the kashmir issue.
A question to all of us… When there is supposed to be a summit on kashmir between India and Pakistan, hurriyant is already invited and is part of us. Why are we sidelined in this.. and what if kashmiri’s pandits are also supposed to be there. Then who will represent us??/panun kashmir???are they worth thiss??/
well there r no particular comments as such,but what i feel and have observed over the yr’s, is that whatever we r writing,comunicating, it is mostly within our own comunity or may be some of the country men kn about it.
I think if there is awakening amoung the kashmiri youth’s, it is high time we need 2 circulate these artical’s and other thing’s 2 among the common people of india , who don’t belong 2 kashmir. Recently i saw the movie msde by Ashokji, don’t kn were is he going 2 show it, but we can take a good advantage of this movie by showing it on TV. and if not allowed on tv then there r private theater’s.what i men 2 say is that as long as the common indian don’t c it with their eyes they won’t believe us and till then there is not going 2 be any awakening.
these r just my personal thought’s, may be i may sound wrong 2 some people. But we ned 2 this, otherwise it is not going 2 help us much.

I was just 7 when left kashmir, so don’t have big memory of kashmir but cetainly remember my big house, garden and my grand father who refused run away and died when nobudy form us(my parents) was with him, but next 12 years we lived such misrable life, lived refugee life, now after 17 years my father again manage to built his house.
I lost my uncle during miltancy…
My father says that we lost our Dignity.
I appeal juctics for our parents, justics for those who lost their lives due miltancy/migration..

I left kashmir when i was 8 yrs old.light memories of my home town are still there in my mind,how the beautyful valley was converted into hell by some miscreants,i miss my homeland very much,and hope someday this exile will end ………..?

My granfather Mr A N Vaishnavi has dedicated his life purely to serve the community n i wil always b ready to follow his footsteps. also i strongly feel it is very imp to meet once in atleast 2 weeks n discuss abt thngs.

Well I was not present in Kashmir when militancy started. I had left before this movement for my higher studies but very well remember the turmoil faced by my parents, relations and other members of my community.
I beklieve that justice is still awaited, no poltical party in true sense has ever tried to rehablitiate this community baxk in their home land. The youngesters should try to rehablitiate this community back in Kashmir keping in mind that why shoulds we (kashmiri Pandit community) gift this land to brutal people (Kashmiri Muslims) by shifting from our homeland.

Girls as it is said…do things in a much more detailed and efficient manner… at least are better at multi-tasking than their male counterparts. So what would be our role then; to contribute towards our community that is languishing in the migrant camps and the rest living with an uncertain future? I am not being a feminist or prejudiced against any gender. As a part of the RIK group I observed that the females were surprisingly fewer in number than I had expected… ARE WE WAITING FOR AN INVITATION to perform what is, in fact, our duty?
I appeal all of you to assemble at jantar mantar on 10 Dec but your participation only in the protest will not really be of the kind of result that the community has dreamt of. ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT is what we require and its only pre-requisite is our love for the cause. Ladies we all need to come forward and yet again prove that our ideas and leadership can transform the world in a much better way. We have to set precedents at every possible step like we did in the mattoo case…let us not lose that zeal and stand up to face the world with an even more indomitable spirit.

1st of May when labour organizations around the world
were enjoying the day of their solidarity, one incident in Jammu
region of J&K state was giving message loudly to whole world to
come out from past dogmas of communism and identify its new
successor in form of Islamic terrorism which is lying heavily on
theory of violence to fulfill its imperialistic agenda to impose
sharia on other non-Islamic faiths. Brutal massacre of 35 Hindus in
Doda and Udhamnagar by Islamic terroists was analyzed in
diplomatic circles as result of frustration of terrorists born
due to heavy polling percentage in last bypolls.
Government of India and J&K were quick to respond on this
incident they claimed this incident as an act of desperation and
frustration of terrorists. If we go on the words of government
terrorists were so much angry on defiance of their dictum by people
of J&K to boycott byelections which were held On 24April.
Second theory which are circulating in the corridors of
government and media speaks about efforts of terrorists to scuttle
on going peace process in J&K. According to this theory latest
massacre had a political message from terrorists before second round
of round table conference to be held on 25 May.
It is not easy to believe both of theories of government and
media . If terrorists were so much upset on high turnout in
byelection polls which were held on 24 April ,why they chose to kill
Hindus alone when Hindus alone not participated in this
byelection. Second theory terroists want to obstruct peace process
in Kashmir is also not well up to the mark.
Every time when some incident of barbaric killing
happens in Kashmir Government reacts with customary statements as
these acts are result of desperation and frustration of terrorists.
This is second incident in last six years when Hindus or Sikhs has
been massacred . In 2000 terrorists butchered 30 Sikhs on the
arrival of then American President Bill Clinton in Chattisingh Pura.
That incident also had some political message then
president of America received overwhelming welcome in India and
relation between both countries got new dimensions. Proximity of
Indo-America was about to hamper interests of Pakistan and Islamic
Ummah as well. In the light of this mindset of Pakistan and Islamic
terrorists brutal killing of 35 Hindus in Jammu can be analyzed
easily.
First of all we should understand it very clearly
terrorists are not frustrated in any way. They have policy of
escalating consistent violence to frustrate victim nation and
people of region to come on negotiating table on their (terrorists)
terms. They have applied it successfully in Israel where they are
getting unilateral concession from Jews nation since 1992 in hope of
lasting peace. But this policy of unilateral concession or surrender
of land to Palestine has not paid off for Israel, now Palestinian
radical organizations have started dreaming of grand historical
Palestine from Israel. Islamic terrorists in Palestine not
struggling to acquire land they are fighting for their belief as any
time in history this land of Israel had Islamic dominance.
Islamic terrorists in Kashmir had same vision and aim. They are
fighting to get some land from Indian side struggle is aimed to
reestablish Islamic dominance in this region which in their point of
view is Muslim majority region and has full right to get liberated
from Hindus.
In his latest audio tape chief of Al-Queda Osama Bin
Laden mentioned Kashmir stated clearly that Hindus and Zionists
conspired to keep Muslims away from their right to liberate Kashmir
since last 50 years. Collaborating Hindus with Zionists was
indication for Islamic terrorist groups operating in Kashmir to
apply the method of Israel in Kashmir matter also.
Massacre of Hindus in Jammu is follow up of Osama’s
call to Islamic Ummah . Within one week of his call Taliban executed
K.Suryanarayan in Afghanistan and when nation was still coming out
of this trauma Jihadi forces targeted Hindus in Jammu in large scale.
Indian establishment and so called intellectual class of
our nation is unable to catch up essence of problem. Some part our
establishment and intellectual class is unable to find out the real
motives of this problem and other part do not have courage to speak
truth.
Hindus blood in our country has become so cheap that on
the day of massacre of Hindus in Jammu our media and politicians
were so much worried about three causalities in Gujrat after protest
of demolition of Muslim structure in encroachment demolition drive.
Even national minority commission was quick enough to issue a
statement condemning police firing in which three Muslims lost their
lives and demanding probe into the demolition of a Muslim structure
which was claimed by this community as historical . At the same
time national minority commission had no specific information about
killing of Hindus in Jammu.
You can’t blame politicians and media alone for this
mind set. Hindus itself are responsible for their misery . Hindus
do not care about happenings of other places until it affects them
directly. To lot of Hindus in India Kashmir is a law order problem
and it is responsibility of Government to take care of it. They do
not know virus of Kashmir is ready to spread beyond valley and to
affect all of Hindus of this nation and abroad as well. Gruesome
killing of K.Suryanarayan was subject of grief for few people of
this community , no demonstration, no protest , no resentment
against government or organizations which were involved in this
murder. This passive behavior of Hindus is boon for those forces
which want to exterminate Hindus from this world.
It could be anybody’s guess that Government will
justify its stand on peace process with Pakistan and Kashmiri
separatists as well and Islamic terrorists will be portrayed before
people of India as frustrated and desperate with success of peace
process and these barbaric and inhuman killings are result of their
frustration.
Till our establishment will try to dissolve problem rather than
solve it ,Islamic terrorism will flourish and repeat Jammu like
incident. It is time for our intellectual class to come out of image
maneuvering syndrome and face harsh reality of origin of Islamic
terrorism which have its root in history of Islamic atrocity in
India.

I guess the new Kahmiri Pandit voice…voice of the new generation was heard by everyone concerned yesterday at the Summit of the Powerless.As far as my memory goes it is the first times KP’s have been able to focus the attention of the media on their problems

Hurriyat leaders, who talk about the need of Pundits to return to the Valley, did not resort to any hunger strike or any other form of protest. How can their ostensible secularism be credible? More than 250,000 Pundits have fled the Valley and continue to live in miserable conditions in refugee camps in Jammu.
Why is it that no Hurriyat or militant leader talks about these flagrant human rights abuses? Why is it that no Kashmiri Mulsim leader talks about Kashmiriyat in the light of these facts?
There has been no word from the Hurriyat on this. As long as it continues and there is no mass movement against them, there is no hope for the unity of our beloved Kashmir – there is no hope for the unified Kashmir so many talked and dreamt about.

Though the latest mode of communication like internet is playing vital role in helping the scattered members of our community get together. We need to ponder over as to what would have been our status(though it remains where it was after our exodus)in absence of such a facility.I am happy at least internet has started generating a feeling among our members to get connected to each other and know about happenings around.The communications till now seem more academic in nature and less practical.We need to imbibe sense and values of being practical in our lives. Jotting down lines and expressing our feelings is definitely not going to solve our longstanding problems surroundings the community as a whole. Individually, a large number of our community members are well settled, leaving behind a few thousand families who are fighing for their survival in the one room tenaments or elsewhere.Instead of wasting time on making Observations and opinions about issues and also non-issues, we better identify problems(including political) being felt by the community as a whole and draw a road map–involving majority of our brethen and also from outside the community till they are resolved. This latest mode of our communication can help us in this direction, which unfortunately has not till now.

The Kashmiri Pandit youth community today probably is the best educated amongst any ethnic communities anywhere in the world. As a direct corollary in the current Knowledge Era context, most of us are well placed professionally. After the migration that was forced upon our parents, most of us have done well and are comfortably placed in our professions and life.
In such a scenario, when suddenly a group of young enthusiasts mail us, asking to participate in “Protest Against Human Right Abuse” make our presence felt, the immediate tendency is to:
1) Laugh it off.
2) Wonder who bothers about such protests after 16 years of exodus
3) Question the desire of belonging to a Geographic Area.
4) Assume the whole event as an attempt by a select few to get some media exposure
5) Rationalize with current realities.
If you, on reading or hearing about it feel any one of above or anything on similar lines, then CONGRATULATIONS!!!. You are normal.
The question arises, then why should we be attending the event in the first place. Why should there be a yearning to go back? Go back to what? I have the following reasons:
Along with being a proud Kashmiri Saraswat Brahmin, I want to have a sense of belonging to the place. Its good to be a Marathi Kashmiri, a Kannada Kashmiri, a Haryanvi Kashmiri…, but the best definitely will be being a Kashmiri Kashmiri.
Chinese who went as slaves to US and have no connection with the country of their forefathers, Absolutely None, still send money for the development of the villages from where their Forefathers had been enslaved.
The Lost tribes of Jews some of which found their way to North-East India and had been driven out by Assyrians way back in Eighth century are finding their way back to Israel today.
Taiwan and China inspite of having fought a bitter war and constantly living in a threat of another still are the largest trade partners of each other.
Because all the elders in my family, wants to see the day when they are going to wake up in Kashmir .
Most of all I owe it to my grandmother, who hopes to proceed on her final journey from the village in Pulwama where she came as a bride.
So, I will want to be there on 10th December, so that I stand for what I want. It will be my attempt to answer that question that all my colleagues, friends and neighbors ask when I tell them I am a Kashmiri Pandit. Why did I leave Kashmir?
If nothing else, let us come out on 10th December, in whichever city we are, and tell India why we had to leave Kashmir.
Let us do it for those young entusiastic Kashmiri youngsters, who probably where not even born in Kashmir or have any conscious recollections of the place.
It may not amount to much, I might never go back to Kashmir in this lifetime except as a tourist, but I will have the satisfaction that I stood up for myself and did not wait for anybody else to do things for me. It might reduce the angst that I had in my teen years about why our parents quit and did not fight back. I will have the satisfaction of sending a message to all the elders in the community, that there are people who still care about their motherland and their efforts are not getting wasted.
I will have done it for myself.
A wonderful initiative that we all need to whole heartedly support!
Lets leave the bickerings to the generation that has been. Let the Youth of today do what has never really happened in the past. United Kashmiri Pandits.

I was in class 1st when we were forced to leave our loved homeland by the millitants.I remember the views of terrorisim ,killings done bec’z i lived in a place which was the major area from were all millitants used to operate their plans .I have seen the pale terrified faces of my parents and grand parents .Not only them but all others who suffered the same pain.They never deserved this nor did we.So this is the best time to do something to get their happyness and that glow back on their faces who have survived among them .I will definitely be there and request all others also not to miss this opportunity .

The history of Kashmir will remain untold if the original inhabitants of the valley ‘Kashmiri Pandits’ are treated as minuscule vote bank, service class people,literate for self interests and peaceful people who fight through the medium of pen. We have also fought for truth, non violence, indiscrimnation and secular fabric of our country by exercising the freedom of speech. The preperation of movements and selection of activities have been preferential requirements of remaining united, as shown by leaders of the community.
The youth with dynamic energy and synergy will be trendsetters for transformation and awakening. The KP youth is by all means a seeker of knowledge and when they ask for revolution, the combination can be a new leap in the direction of reviving our culture, tradition and spirituality towards the roots of our ancestors.
The wisdom of organising various functional modes of activities starting from Nukkad nattak, to enlighten and involve Non Kashmiri is a significant move. I wish the budding and blossoming KP youth organisation a great success.

I think this initiative which you have taken up is of exterme importance i think its really important for us kashmiri pandits to now be aggressive because its only aggression which is heard. Being born and brought up in Delhi i feel really sad that the place where my Dad grew up and lived half of his life is now inaccesible to me. I feel digusted at the thought that my family had to flee at 3 in the morning from a place which they thought they belonged to.
i went to kashmir a few days back and was horrified to see my dad’s village (mahind, pahalgam) desecrated and all its beauty destroyed.
What is our fault? ^That we love our native land and that we aspire to belong to it?

Dear friends it is matter of shame that we are ruled by a poltical class(government of india) who are no better than eunuchs, they don’t have courage to tackle the terrorism, they don’t have guts to get the bastard like mohd. afzal hanged, they represent the class of coward people who will visit the kashmir with protection of hundreds of commandos from SPG, however, while commenting on plight of kashmiri pandits, they will tell, “the situation is getting normal and we are building the two room sets for kashmiri pandits so that they can return to kashmir”, these bastards are are evading the responsibility they hold as the government of the state, now the time has come we should not trust these idiots and get ready for the struggle to acheive the goal of homeland, we should get ready to sacrifice our lives as there is no place for cowards in this world, we should either attain our goals or we should perish in our struggle, also we can talk to moasits from the southern states to get arms and ammunition and arrange funds, we can also seek help from hindu groups like Shiv Sens, Vishwa Hindu Parishad. This will help us to attain our goals through our might not by presenting memorandums and staging the protests. These simply doesn’t work. Let me tell I don’t want a situation where we are pitted against the India, however Let’s take a lead in changing the poltical situation of India which works on the policy of vote-bank.
Let’s get homeland(Panus Kashmir-Brahmin Mandal) for us through our own efforts rather than lying on mercy of coward government.

We have showed the world what Kashmiri Pandits are. There is no doubt that our community is considered world over as one of intellectuals, but it is an irony that we do not see each other eye to eye. This is a known fact too that a KP will never help a KP out of jealousy or I do not know what. Isn’t it a high time that we rise to the occasion and make sure to help our other brothers and sisters across the globe and show solidarity with them?

The plight of the Pandits is heart rending. My sincere best wishes to all the suffering Kashmiri pandits who were driven from their homes. Unless it happens to one, one cannot really fathom the human misery such ethnic cleansing and forced displacement causes. I am flabbergasted that the Indian government let this happen to its own citizen! Apparently, the Indian public at large has not learnt from the tragedy of the 1947 partition and the subsequent genocide.
I am glad to note that the young pandits are now taking up the cudtgel and fighting for their rights. I wish them success.

My name is Karan, from the UK. It is a great shame and it disgusts me to see how these kashmiri pandits have been treated by these hideous pollution filled minds of these murderers that live their life’s preying on those that practise the religion of Hinduism within Kashmir. My roots are in Uttar Pradesh, and despite me not being a kashmiri, I feel immense empathy with their unfortunate plight. Its sickening to know these kashmiri pandits are essentially refugees in their own homeland. To some extent, we are to blame, as it is our duty and dharma to protect them. The Indian govenrment also needs to understand the concept of protecting it’s people, because currently, they are dreadful at it. The indigenous culture of Kashmir is Hinduism, the indigenous people of kashmir are the pandits, and kashmir’s greatness, fruitfulness and wisdom is scarce without them present.
It is heartening to see all the comments from our well wishers and friends.It is my request to all the people who have posted comments to join the crusade.Their joining the crusade will strengthen us all since we emanate from you.People are our strength.Please mail us and join the movement.It is time to go back to our roots.

During Hindu-Muslim riots, Mahatma Gandhi wanted Hindus to sacrifice their lives, because that was the ‘Hindu’ thing to do. Let Muslims fight and accumulate bad karma.

There is another thing that surprises me. It is the pro-India stand taken by most KPs. Do you even realize that India is responsible for your plight? Even 16 years after your displacement, India has done absolutely nothing. Not even complained to UN.
In fact, India has made snide remarks that KPs shouldn’t be afraid to return to the valley, and so forth. India has given you horrible refuge camps to live in. India doesn’t even invite KPs for talks, even as it invites terrorists.
Why would you support an India that hates you, treats you like outcastes? Why indeed?

Gandhi was a confused man who distorted the message of the Gita to suit his whims and fancies, let Hindus understand that Sri Krishna has already shown us the path we should take in the face of injustice so it does not matter what Gandhi said or did because Gandhi is a no body compared to Krishna.
The biggest problems are absence of books, materials, celebrity voices, actions on the ground on the atrocities perpetrated on Kashmiri Hindus.
There are people like Anupam Kher, Karan Singh and many others who should give voice to this.
Books written based on first hand experience should be widely available, electronic copy shuld be avialable in the internet.
High profile demonstration must be organized in prominent places of Delhi, Mumbai, all Metros, World Capitals.
The way Pandits have been treated by our ’secular’ parties are most condemnable. But we have to work hard, there are no other options.
At this age of media, please please ensure that the world, specially Indians know about the forgotten Kashmiri Pandits. Once its highlighted, all other things will fall in place.

Mr Suresh, this is not the place nor it is the time to talk about tolerence. What do you mean “Land is not everything”, Will you give up your home to some intruders and talk to them about tolerence. If you still think so, go some where else coz this is not a forum for you.
Well Bravo RIK team. I am from South India and people always feel sitting all the way in south how can someone understand the plight of what went in Kashmir and what happened to the Hindus there. I am proud to be Hindu but I feel sad to see a map of India without its complete “head”, Our Kashmir. We should all fight together for your rights..and get our Land back. There is no India without Kashmir and there is no Kashmir without the Kashmiri Pundits.

I am not a Kashmiri, but I very strongly support the movement. I think any form of forced relocation is torturous. Given that everyone sheds so many tears for the situation in Kashmir, they still do not recognize the horrors faced by one particular community.
Human tragedy is not new, and when one looks at what happened to Tibet, it is natural to feel that maybe some curse has fallen on the rich heritage & culture in the entire larger Himalayan region.
Although on a much lesser level, but the situation in Punjab did return to normal and anyone who was forced out of that state eventually returned. In some sense, I continue to dream that one day things in Kashmir will get back to normal.
Although the Indian Government has done little to support the Kashmiri Pundits, the very fact that India is not giving up on Kashmir will hopefully one day serve in the best interests of the community in particular and nation at large.

The punishment of being a indian in a country called INDIA has been fully demonstrated by the Govertment of India’s apathy towards Kashmiri Pandits. Their only fault calling themselves Indians while living in an integral part of india i.e Jammu and Kashmir.

A Hindu Govt. like BJP was in power for five years. What did it do for KPs? Nothing!
As you can see, most Hindus are untrustworthy, which is why KPs are suffering. Hence, KPs must declare themselves to be distinct from Hindus, if only for their survival. In fact, KPs are different from other Indians, as far as ethnicity, religion etc. go. So KPs have a better chance to succeed if they break away from Hindus.
A new identity will do them a world of good. Following this method, you can also seek minority status and the benefits that come from such status. It’s something to think about.

My suggestion to Pandits is that they should use their intelligence to seek a part of Kashmir . Unless they dont do it they would only be repeating what their ancestors have done.

I think the first and the foremost thing we have to do is : Take a pledge not to forget our kashmiri culture. At least we can start by communicating in our mother tongue. If you are in a group , please communicate in kashmiri. Our language has a bonding power. This is a continious process. Side by side we can do other activities like telling the world – Who kashmiri pandits are and what they have gone thru.
Our indian brothers sometimes tell me – that they have visited kashmir . I ask them which place, the reply is – Jammu and Katra. So tell them kashmir is 289 kms futher up from Jammu. let work together- Amen

Just think, since 1947 or before, what ever we want to do and what ever we have achieved is it justified to us. I know we have won the Priyadarshini Matoo case that doesn’t mean we have achived a lot. This we should treat as a biggning. I personally request to all KPS espacially our younger generation to join on one plate form then only we can fight and make our dreams true.

Your voice is being heard by other hindus all over India. I am originally from South India, but understand very well the islamic threat to the vedic/Hindu civilzation. Islam has been fighting a war against the hindus for centuries and this is the latest. The need of the hour is a Hindu army to take up the kashmir cause and teach Pakis a lesson. Also, an armed Hindu group is needed to protect the Hindu settlers from Muslim militants. We need an Israel like attitude and use the support of VHP/RSS to make this dream a reality. The jammu agitation is the first step towards a mass movement that will drown out kashmiri islamist voices. Soon we will make the kashmiri muslims a minorty in that state through external investments and allowing the whole hindu nation to invest in the state.
